Deshaun Watson’s Lawyer Responds To Tony Buzbee’s Claim That There Will Be No Settlements

A new report suggests when the probe into sexual assault against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will finish

Earlier this week, it was reported that Deshaun Watson might be nearing an end to all of the sexual assault cases against him. The word was that settlements could be coming soon.

However, that does not appear to be the case. Tony Buzbee, the Houston lawyer who brought all 22 cases against Watson forward, claims that he won’t be settling any of them.

“When asked about a possible settlement, Buzbee said that is not happening,” wrote Mark Berman of FOX 26 via The Spun.

Now, Deshaun Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, has an interesting rebuttal.

“In a recent interview, Mr. Buzbee stated that ‘a settlement is not happening.’ We certainly agree that there are currently no settlement negotiations being conducted,” Hardin said in a statement.

Hardin also wants it clear that Deshaun Watson will not be settling any cases until “terms are made public and all participants are allowed to speak in their own defense at all times.”

It doesn’t appear that this case will be ending in the foreseeable future. And it’ll be interesting to see if Deshaun Watson will take a snap at all during the upcoming NFL season.
