Cleveland Browns Latest Team Being Linked To Deshaun Watson

A new report suggests when the probe into sexual assault against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will finish

Deshaun Watson just became to most coveted player on the trade market after it was announced last week that his criminal case was being dropped.

Earlier today, it was being reported that Watson will be meeting with the Saints and Panthers within the next two days.

However, one team has come out of the woodwork as a potential dark-horse landing spot for Deshaun Watson: the Cleveland Browns.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns are prepared to send a haul (including Baker Mayfield) to Houston in order to land Watson.

After opting in to the fifth year of Baker Mayfield’s rookie contract prior to last season, the Browns appear to be set on giving the former first overall pick in the NFL Draft one last shot to prove he’s their quarterback of the future. But now that Deshaun Watson doesn’t face any legal trouble, that mindset may be changing.

Watson was forced to sit out the entire 2021-22 season after being accused of sexual harassment from over 20 massage therapists.

But it would appear as though he’ll be cleared to play by Week One next season. Will the Browns be the team willing to give a crazy enough package to the Texans in order to land Deshaun Watson?

Time will tell, but I’d expect a deal to come to fruition rather quickly.
