Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans appear to be at an impasse. The disgruntled quarterback wants out, and has demanded a trade. Meanwhile, general manager Nick Caserio and new coach David Culley are holding firm that they have no intention of trading Watson.

“Organizationally, I just want to reiterate our commitment to Deshaun Watson,” Caserio said Friday during a press conference introducing new head coach David Culley via NFL.com. “He’s had a great impact on this organization, a great impact on a lot of people, a great impact on this team, and we look forward to the opportunity to spend more time with him here this spring once we get started.

Deshaun Watson does not approve of his new GM’s assessment of the situation. He’s even gone as far as removing all mentions of being a Houston Texans player on his social media.

So, the cat and mouse game between Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans rages on. If I’m the Texans, I’m starting to field the market for the star QB. They would get an absolute haul for Watson, which would accelerate their rebuild. The longer they wait, the more ugly this whole situation gets, and the worse the Texans’ organization looks.

Just pull the plug already. Let Deshaun Watson go play for a team he can win a Super Bowl with.
