New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose had the perfect answer when talking about the treatment Trae Young got at Madison Square Garden during Game One.
He basically says that anyone who thinks the crowd was too hard on Trae, or that his ‘shushing’ reaction was too much, is providing further proof that the league has gotten “soft.”

“The league has gotten so soft. The crowd is supposed to do that. I’ve been in series where drinks were thrown on people’s moms,” Rose said prior to Game 2. “You want to talk s–t, talk s–t, but next game it’s going to be tougher”

Derrick Rose is 100% right with this assessment here.
It’s playoff basketball … star players are going to have to be ready to go into hostile environments and perform. Trae Young was able to do just that in Game 1, and now he’ll be the villain in Game 2, and for the rest of the series.
Playoff sports are fun, and they’re especially fun in arenas like Madison Square Garden. Trae Young will get some more taunts throughout tonight’s game. And he has already proven that he’s capable of handling it. It really shouldn’t be such a big storyline.
