Current NBA free agent Dennis Schroder bet on himself, and it appears as of now he lost that bet. Schroder still has yet to find a landing spot during this offseason after the Lakers traded for him at the beginning of last season. The Los Angeles Lakers offered Schroder a 4-year, $84 million contract extension, but he rejected their very fair market value offer.
He figured he’d be able to make more in free agency.
He was wrong.
Via Boston Herald:
“’He’s only interested in one year, and then getting back out there,’ said the source, who added that Schroder has also run into another problem — the sudden lack of available starting point guard jobs,” Murphy reported.
“The Celtics have pitched Schroder the idea of backing up Marcus Smart next season,” Murphy wrote.
“’He needs time — I think he’s in a state of shock because of what he’s done,’ the source said of Schroder turning down a four-year, $84 million offer last season from the Lakers, who responded by trading for Russell Westbrook.”

Dennis Schroder has no one to blame but himself.
When it mattered, he didn’t play all that great.
He’ll find a home soon enough, but he’ll once again have to bet on himself to see if he can secure the bag come next season.
