Like so many great fighters before him, the thinking was Khabib would eventually come out of retirement. He’s 29-0 and still very much in his prime. On Thursday, it was announced Dana White would be stepping down in his attempts to get Khabib to fight once again. This is being read by many as the official retirement of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
See below:
29-0 it is.

Apparently Dana unsuccessfully tried to wine and dine him into fighting again:
Khabib Nurmagomedov has officially retired, per Dana White. They met earlier this week in Las Vegas, Nurmagomedov reiterated his stance that he wanted to be done fighting and now White is standing down in his attempts to convince him to return to action any time soon.

You really never know what can motivate a fighter to come out of retirement. It seems Khabib is not your orindary joe, his father dying pretty much put the nail in the coffin in his fighting career.
