Dan Orlovsky can’t hide his feelings.
The New York Giants have started out the season 6-1. Nobody and I mean nobody saw this early success coming. The Giants seem to be running smoothly under the direction and offensive play-calling of their new head coach. Most impressively Brian Daboll has managed to help Daniel Jones with his turnover issues.
The Giants aren’t going to win any shootouts but a well-coached team with a dangerous running back and a smart defense is a way to get some Wins. Most of the Get Up crew, led by Rex Ryan, praised the young QB this morning for his winning efforts and Rex Ryan was pleased because he’s always been a Daniel Jones fan. Dan Orlovsky, though, was adamant that while Jones has been good the Giants have had to go to great lengths to ensure he doesn’t screw things up to win, highlighted by the fact that New York called only seven pass plays in the second half.
This launched an argument between Dan Orlovsky and everyone else that eventually led to Ryan saying nobody criticizes Lamar Jackson when he wins by running the ball, which set Orlovsky off. Things got worse when Mike Greenberg said that if Jones had Jackson’s wide receiving group he’d be much better.
Watch below:
The fact that anyone is comparing Daniel Jones to Lamar Jackson is a miracle, considering he’s been an average QB his entire career. To even hear their names mentioned together is proof just how much disrespect Lamar Jackson receives.
This is what sports television has become, and Dan Orlovksy understands that completely.
