Damian Lillard has made it clear that he’s done putting up with the mediocre roster the Trail Blazers have been building around him for a long time.

While he’s insisting that he’s not ready to demand a trade, Lillard opened up on how he wants to win a championship, and he doesn’t think the Trail Blazers are capable of doing so with the way they’re currently constructed.

As teams have been pouncing on top-of-the-line players since the free agency period began earlier in the week, the Trail Blazers haven’t done much.

So Damian Lillard has to be upset, right? Not exactly.

Lillard gave the Blazers the benefit of the doubt, claiming that didn’t land some of the players they ‘would have liked’.

“When you go into free agency and things like this, you never know what happens,” Damian Lillard said during a media availability at the Tokyo Olympics via The Athletic. “You never know where guys are going to end up and why they go there. You just try to have conversations and convince guys to be a part of our team.

“And obviously, this go around, we wasn’t able to go out there and just get some of the guys that we would have liked, and you go down the list and you go through the guys that are out there that you like who haven’t committed to a team or was a part of your plans in free agency and you get the ones that want to be a part of what you’re doing. And I think that’s what we did.”

Damian Lillard also re-iterated that he hasn’t mad any decision on what his future will entail.

“I haven’t made any firm decision on what my future will be,” Lillard said earlier in The Olympics.
