The Dallas Cowboys are flexed out of their primetime game…and the Cleveland Browns are taking their place.
This is the first time in 14 years the Dallas Cowboys are being replaced for a primetime game. Over the last 10 seasons, the Cowboys have three double-digit win seasons and three playoff appearances to the franchise’s name.
Cleveland, on the other hand, is having the best season since the team’s inception in 1999. In the 22 seasons since Cleveland re-joined the NFL, they have qualified for one playoff trip and have yet to have more than 10 wins in a season.
2020 has been a bizarre season for most things NFL, but this is a wakeup call for the Dallas Cowboys franchise. Deemed a Super Bowl contender this offseason, embarrassing coaching decisions, abysmal defensive play and injuries have sent this team to the NFL lottery.
Will Dallas overcome this with the current roster they have? Can Dak Prescott guide this team to relevancy? How long will the team be saddled up with Mike McCarthy and his coaching staff? These are the questions spiraling around the front office as the team continues to free fall.

Cleveland is turning the franchise around around the tutelage of Kevin Stefanski. After decades of bottom-dwelling, the 12th head coach since 1999 is finally turning everything around. Now, alongside Mike Tomlin and Brian Flores, Stefanski is in the running for Coach of the Year. Despite losing Odell Beckham Jr for the year alongside Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett not playing for extended periods of time, Cleveland is still locked in for the 5th spot in the AFC.
Cleveland will take on the New York Giants on primetime in Week 15 while Dallas versus San Francisco is moved to the afternoon.
