Dak Prescott was clearly unhappy with how the game against the Niners ended last weekend.
After running a draw play with 14 seconds left, the Cowboys ran out of time before they could take one last shot to the end zone. And a big reason why was because the ref in charge of spotting the football was late to put the ball down when Dallas was trying to spike before the clock ran out.
When being told that fans were throwing trash at the refs after the game, Dak Prescott caught flak by saying, “credit to them”.

In light of the comment, many were quick to question Dak Prescott’s choice of response. And the NBA refs even sent out a statement to condemn the Cowboys QB on Tuesday.
After all the backlash, Prescott finally took to Twitter on Tuesday night to apologize for his comments.
“I deeply regret the comments I made regarding the officials after the game on Sunday. I was caught up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were uncalled for and unfair,” he tweeted.”

I hold the NFL Officials in the highest regard and have always respected their professionalism and the difficulty of their jobs.
The safety of everyone who attends a game or participates on the field of a sporting event is a very serious matter.

That was a mistake on my behalf, and I am sorry.

With the loss during Wild Card Weekend, Dak Prescott’s playoff record in Dallas now moves to 1-3 (coincidentally the same record as Tony Romo after his first six seasons).
It’s safe to say the Cowboys botched their game against the Niners well before their last-ditch effort for a miracle on the final drive was messed up by the referee.
For now, the Cowboys appear committed to rolling out there with Dak Prescott and Mike McCarthy next season. Which means all of us will be waiting for the postseason collapse around this time next year.
