Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney was furious with Florida State and their coach Mike Norvell for canceling the last weekend’s game. Swinney has been making claims that FSU used COVID as an excuse to postpone. Dabo Swinney said earlier in the week that, “This game was not canceled because of COVID, COVID was just an excuse to cancel the game.”

Well, Swinney had some more choice words for the Florida State football program today when asked about the situation.

“I’m not really worried much about what they say down there in Tallagassee. I’ve been in this league 18 years, I’ve been the head coach for 12. They’ve had three head coaches in four years,” Swinney said at his presser today.

Shots fired.

Swinney’s comments were in response to Florida State coach Mike Norvell’s comment on why the game was postponed. Here was Norvell’s explanation.

“Everyone here wanted to play,” Norvell said. “Football coaches are not doctors.”

Mike Norvell then said that he has had enough talking about Clemson and Dabo Swinney.

Mike Norvell can move forward all he wants, but it appears that Dabo Swinney wants all the smoke with Florida State. He seems like he’s not letting this go for a while. We could have quite the rivalry brewing between Clemson and Florida State.
