Dabo Swinney Doesn’t Think Ohio State Should Be Allowed In The College Football Playoff After Playing Just Six Games

Dabo Swinney is low-key turning into the most outspoken coach in college football. First, he had a problem with Florida State for canceling their game against his Tigers due to COVID. Now, he’s speaking out against Ohio State being allowed into the four-team College Football Playoff.

“I just think there has to be some type of standard,” Swinney said on The Rich Eisen Show. “I just think it would be – if I was on a committee, it would be hard for me to leave out a 10-1 Texas A&M or an 11-game Florida team over a team that’s played six games. That would be hard for me if I was on a committee, but I’m not on the committee. So it doesn’t really matter.”

Swinney did go on to say that Ohio State has a good chance of winning the whole thing. So whats his point? Shouldn’t the best teams in college football be represented?

I like Dabo Swinney, I really do, but some of his takes are just absurd. I know Florida and Texas A&M are having very good seasons, but if Ohio State has the best chance to win a title then they should be in the playoff. This whole decision should be about who the best four teams in college football are. Dabo Swinney is trying to make it about something else.
