Despite his organization paying Todd Gurley $6 million this season, Falcons OC Dirk Koetter seems to know about as much as we do about his new star running back’s health. Gurley’s knees were rumored to have serious issues at the tail end of the 2018-19 NFL season when we saw the C.J. Anderson renaissance, with a much less effective Gurley, en route to the Rams’ Super Bowl loss versus New England. The Rams lessened his workload in response last season as their then-star running back topped 25 touches just twice in a mostly lost year for Sean McVay’s squad despite playing in 15 out of 16 games.

And now on the cusp of his return to his college stomping grounds of Georgia to play for the Atlanta Falcons, it seems like things could be even worse as Todd Gurley takes over for the departed Devonta Freeman. Gurley is the Falcons’ biggest offseason acquisition and seemed lined up to be a potential feel-good story in an NFL year that should be in need of them. And apparently his own offensive coordinator doesn’t even know how ready he’ll be able to be or what workload he can handle? Not a great start for Gurley’s Falcons stint in an unprecedented offseason.

Fortunately for Dirk Koetter and Falcons fans, it just so happens that I do have sources in the medical field and I was able to obtain an EXCLUSIVE x-ray of Todd Gurley’s knees. Now this may be a violation of some HIPAA conditions but I’m a man of the people and I refuse to leave any stone unturned in the journalism we put out here at Side Action. Let’s take a look inside:

The guy drinking coffee inside Todd Gurley’s knees to keep them working is more gainfully employed than C.J. Anderson so I guess that’s a positive for all involved. Especially in this economy.
