A Dallas Cowboys writer was trashed all over the web after claiming the team should bring in Marcus Mariota to give Dak Prescott some competition

The Dallas Cowboys are set under center with Dak Prescott for the foreseeable future.

But that won’t stop the nonsense from coming out through the woodwork.

At the end of last week, one Cowboys publication suggested that the team sign veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota to give Dak Prescott some competition for the QB1 job.

It’s safe to say that Cowboys fans didn’t care for the suggestion about creating a Marcus Mariota/Dak Prescott quarterback room.

Prior to last season, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys locked up Dak Prescott on a four-year, $160 million contract extension, making it clear that they want him to be their guy for the rest of his career.

Sure, bringing in Mariota to pair with Prescott could provide the team with an elite backup who can operate the same offensive system as Prescott, but to insinuate that he’d be anymore than that is simply absurd.

Like it or not Cowboys nation, Dak Prescott is your quarterback. And you’ll go as far as he’s going to take you.
