Cowboys Fans Were Overly Upset About A Current Player Wanting Tony Romo’s Old Jersey Number

Find somebody who loves you as much as Dallas Cowboys fans loved their mediocre quarterback.

Tony Romo never really accomplished too much in Dallas, didn’t really win the big game, never really rose to the occasion, but boy did Dallas embrace him anyways. Sure, Romo was a gamer, but to act like he’s some sort of legend is just asinine.

That’s why today’s social media activity from Cowboys fans made no sense to me. Linebacker Jaylon Smith is said to want to wear Romo’s old #9 for next season. Smith donned the #9 jersey throughout high school and college, and he wants to wear it again.

Some Cowboys fans were upset at the youngster trying to take Tony Romo’s number.

Other people were critical of fans caring about some else taking the number that Tony Romo used to wear.

This seems like a rather contentious topic for Dallas fans.

I think people are going to have to accept the fact that someone else will wear #9 at some point for the Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo simply wasn’t that good. You gotta respect the passion from all the fans, though.
