A doctors stoppage TKO win for Dustin Poirier was recorded as Conor McGregor was unable to continue due to a nasty leg injury at the end of the first round.

You can watch the gruesome injury below:

It was nasty. Watching it live you realized as soon as the bell went that McGregor’s leg was clearly snapped. He was telling the ref Herb Dean that his leg was broke and was just laying there.

It was not a pretty sight for anyone in attendance.

While it was certainly not how anyone expected the fight to end, the words continued from both in their post-fight interviews.

There is no way that McGregor will be able to be fighting within the year and I could easily see this being the last time we see him in an octagon.

On the other hand, Dustin Poirier has essentially set up a title match with title holder Charles Oliveira.
