McGregor injured his leg last night at the end of the 1st round giving Dustin Poirier the Doctor’s Stoppage First Round TKO victory at UFC 264. Here is the video if you have not yet seen it.

According to multiple sources, it was a clean break of the tibia andConor the surgery took around three hours but everything went well and McGregor is expected to make a full recovery.

McGregor goes on to say that he will need 6 weeks on crutches but then will be back to “build it back up” and expects another rematch with Poirier.

It is truly unknown if he will ever be able to make his way back to the octagon, let alone what kind of shape his body will be in. At this point, it does seem like he rekindled his desire to fight in the UFC after briefly retiring in 2017 to box Floyd Mayweather.

Dustin Poirier is expected to get a shot at the title against current champion Charles Oliveira.
