It was a sad outcome to the hyped Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier fight last Saturday when McGregor snapped his ankle, resulting in a doctor’s stoppage.

McGregor’s coach revealed shortly after the fight that “The Notorious” was actually dealing with an ankle injury before he even stepped into the ring.

In a video on social media, Conor McGregor is seconded the claim by his coach that he was hobbled before he even stepped into the cage to fight Dustin Poirier.

He even claimed that he was debating pushing the fight back.

“I had stress fractures in my leg going into that cage,” McGregor revealed on Thursday, via ESPN MMA. “It was debated about pulling the thing out.”

Conor McGregor was undoubtedly losing the fight against Dustin Poirier before the nasty injury.

Some around the sport were speculating that this could have been the last we’ve seen of McGregor in the octagon, but he vowed that he would come back stronger from this injury.

UFC president Dana White also said that he would give Conor McGregor another shot at Poirier when he heals, given that you “can’t end like that.”

We’ll await that fight. Because love him or hate him, McGregor makes the UFC a much more entertaining place.
