Thanks to a Twitter user and some alleged leaked texts, the Andrew Luck coming out of retirement rumors started circulating again. The texts claimed that Luck was telling his wife he missed football and that he had an upcoming meeting with Colts owner Jim Irsay. Fans clung to the texts and started talking about the possibility of Luck making a comeback for the Colts. Unfortunately for Colts fans, Jim Irsay has slammed the door on the rumors.

The Colts owner shut down the possibility of meeting with Andrew Luck, claiming that he is more retired than ever.

“He’s more retired now than he was a year and a half ago,” Irsay said via Kevin Bowen. “He definitely is retired and there’s really no wiggle room or rumor, as much as people would like to hear that.”

“Believe me, I wish It was true and I was hiding some big announcement. But that’s just not the case.”

Colts fans have been trying to reel Andrew Luck back in ever since his retirement announcement in 2019. So far, they have been unsuccessful and it doesn’t look like much has changed. For now, at least, Luck seems at peace with his decision to take early retirement. This means the Colts will still have a hole to fill at the quarterback position this offseason. What will they do? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
