College Football Playoff Chairman Mocked Over Some Bizarre Comments About Michigan, Michigan State Ranking

College Football Playoff chairman Gary Barta was trashed all over the web after an nonsense quote about Michigan, Michigan State's latest ranking

According to College Football Playoff chairman Gary Barta, you shouldn’t actually watch the football games before making up the rankings on a weekly basis.

Every week, the committee is massively critiqued over their rankings, and this week was no different.

As it stands, undefeated Cincinnati continues to be on the outside looking in to the playoff conversation. But perhaps even more controversial was where the committee has Michigan and Michigan State ranked.

Despite the fact that both teams have one loss, and Michigan State beat their rival, Michigan is still ranked ahead of State in the latest poll.

When speaking on the situation, Gary Barta had an all-time head scratcher of a quote.

“Set aside watching the games, though that’s certainly a part of it. But statistically in just about every category, offensively and defensively, Michigan comes out on top over Michigan State,” he said.

Barta was immediately trashed for his quote about Michigan and Michigan State.

The only real way for Gary Barta and the College Football Playoffs not to be scrutinized is by expanding to eight teams. And even then, there will likely be teams on the outside looking in who aren’t happy.

But with that being said, Michigan State’s win over Michigan should absolutely get them a higher ranking over the rival, and it did nobody any good that this dude completely put his foot in his mouth when speaking on the issue.

Buckle up, because there’s gonna be so much more College Football Playoff controversy before this year is done.
