Cleveland Browns fans are a loyal bunch, and Baker Mayfield is reaping the benefits of their generosity.
Amid the reports that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay, the Browns (among many other teams) have been tied to the disgruntled QB. While most fan bases would love for Rodgers to come to their team, the Browns don’t appear interested.

Fans have flocked to social media to declare that Baker Mayfield is their quarterback, and they don’t want that to change for anyone.

Aaron Rodgers wasn't the one embracing Cleveland at their worst.
Aaron Rodgers wasn't the one who ended the 19 year QB search.
Aaron Rodgers wasn't the one who cried when the Browns broke an 18 year playoff drought because he understood what it meant.

I can’t be the only one that would rather have 10 years of Baker Mayfield over 1-2 years of Aaron Rodgers. Can I??

To hell with Aaron Rodgers! Some Bay Area punk ass ain’t coming in here and riding on Baker Mayfield’s coattails. #Browns pic.twitter.com/xUJztIJ7hr

I like Baker Mayfield, but I don’t necessarily understand the Cleveland Browns fans’ loyalty here. Sure, Aaron Rodgers is getting old, Mayfield is coming off a solid season, and brought Cleveland back to the playoffs for the first time in a while.
But to say that bringing in the reigning MVP to your team would be detrimental is asinine. The Browns have one of the best rosters in the entire NFL top-to-bottom. They have a run-centric offense with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Mayfield is asked to execute the offense, and he does a decent job at it. But Aaron Rodgers’ skillset would take the team to the next level.
With Aaron Rodgers, the Cleveland Browns are a front-runner to win the Super Bowl next season.
