Cleveland Browns fans are a loyal bunch, and Baker Mayfield is reaping the benefits of their generosity.

Amid the reports that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay, the Browns (among many other teams) have been tied to the disgruntled QB. While most fan bases would love for Rodgers to come to their team, the Browns don’t appear interested.

Fans have flocked to social media to declare that Baker Mayfield is their quarterback, and they don’t want that to change for anyone.

I like Baker Mayfield, but I don’t necessarily understand the Cleveland Browns fans’ loyalty here. Sure, Aaron Rodgers is getting old, Mayfield is coming off a solid season, and brought Cleveland back to the playoffs for the first time in a while.

But to say that bringing in the reigning MVP to your team would be detrimental is asinine. The Browns have one of the best rosters in the entire NFL top-to-bottom. They have a run-centric offense with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Mayfield is asked to execute the offense, and he does a decent job at it. But Aaron Rodgers’ skillset would take the team to the next level.

With Aaron Rodgers, the Cleveland Browns are a front-runner to win the Super Bowl next season.
