Oakland A’s pitcher Chris Bassitt was the victim of a scary scene on Tuesday night when he took a line drive off the head during the game against the Chicago White Sox.

Bassitt would have to be carted off the field.

While fans and media members have flocked to social media to spread thoughts and prayers for Chris Bassitt, the A’s have now sent an update on the pitcher.

According to the team, Bassitt is ‘conscious and aware’ and is currently en route to the hospital.

Chris Bassitt was immediately met by manager Bob Melvin and the training staff following the scary moment, and his teammates were visibly shaken up after he left the field.

The Chicago White Sox were quick to send a message to Chris Bassitt.
