The Chicago Bulls are having somewhat of a surprising season as they contend for a spot in the Eastern Conference. Zach LaVine, who was just selected for his first All-Star game, has been the team’s workhorse. The Bulls surprised him with a call from his family and friends who were there to congratulate LaVine for his first All-Star selection. LaVine thought he was about to do a call with the media. But it turned out his parents, joined by many others, were there on the other end to congratulate him for his achievement.

Former NBA veteran Jamal Crawford joined the call as well and took the time to congratulate LaVine on his career milestone. The players formed a bond after going through numerous battles on the court and working out together in recent years. Bulls teammate Thaddeus Young also came on the call. The 32-year-old forward claimed that he wanted to achieve two goals when he signed with Chicago: make the playoffs and help LaVine become an All-Star. Close family members and friends also joined the call to show their support.

LaVine is having a career year. He’s currently averaging 28.6 points on 51.8% shooting from the field along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists through 30 games played. He has already had the chance to showcase his talents on All-star weekend as a two-time slam dunk champion. Now he has the chance to show his complete repertoire when he takes the stage for the all-star game on March 7th. Look for LaVine to shine bright in the All-star game and prove that it was a well-deserved honor.
