Could the Bears lure Brian Flores to Chicago?

Just yesterday, it was reported that Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was considered the front-runner to land the vacant head coach job for the Bears.

But today, a different report is circulating the web.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, the Bears a zeroing in on former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. But it might take some convincing to lure him to Chicago.

“For Chicago to reel him in, they have to talk to Flores and go, ‘Okay, the general manager hire is going to be someone you’re comfortable with and you want to be connected with,’” Robinson told Michael Holley and Michael Smith on Peacock’s Brother From Another.

“And it’s also going to be someone who’s comfortable letting you take the lead in the organization, i.e. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. Very similar set-up where it’s going to be a very coach-driven organization first with a GM being, not on the second tier, but just holding back a little bit behind the head coach.”

Brian Flores’ firing by the Dolphins sent shockwaves through the NFL community. After Miami started the season 1-7, Flores rallied the troops, and nearly found a way to sneak into the playoffs in the AFC.

Now that the young coach is on the market, he has several interview requests from teams looking for their next head coach. And it seems likely that he’ll land a job somewhere in the NFL.

Giving Brian Flores say on who the next Bears GM will be would go a long way towards him being the next coach of the team.
