Bears Reportedly Already Eyeing A Potential Replacement For Matt Nagy

Is Matt Nagy already halfway out the door in Chicago?

Well, according to a report: yes.

NFL insider Benjamin Allbright joined Jon Zaghoul on Sports Talk Chicago earlier in the week and said that he’s hearing that there is little to no chance that the Bears keep Matt Nagy around next season regardless of what transpires during the remainder of the season.

“From my conversations with people, the [Bears] have already started doing backgrounds on potential replacements,” Allbright told Zaghoul. “I’ll say Brian Daboll would be the leader in the clubhouse.”

When Allbright was pushed on Twitter on who might be the “clubhouse leader” to replace Matt Nagy, he pointed out Bills OC Brian Daboll.

I didn't say that was the whole list, I just said the shortlist started there.

Daboll will have multiple teams after him Chicago is probably the leader in the clubhouse. Moore has no HC experience and no ties to anyone in the building. Doesn't mean he won't, just long shot.

Brian Daboll Poised To Replace Matt Nagy?

Brian Daboll would be a popular hire among Bears fans.

While the coordinator has never held a head coaching position in the NFL, he’s been considered a top candidate for the past few years.

Daboll’s Bills offense currently has the top scoring unit in the entire NFL. And QB Josh Allen has blossomed into a perennial MVP candidate year-in and year-out.

Matt Nagy appears to have already lost the Bears brass, but Chicagoans should feel comfortable with Daboll as a potential replacement.
