While Charles Barkley took the high road at first, saying he doesn’t have a problem with Scottie Pippen, that didn’t last long.

During an interview with ESPN 1000 “Waddle and Silvy” on Wednesday, Charles Barkley assured everyone that despite Scottie Pippen’s claims, he could definitely take him in a fight.

“I don’t walk around saying I’m Billy Badass, but I can promise you one thing — I’m tougher than Scottie Pippen,” Barkley said. “Let me put that to rest right now.”

Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen played together on the Houston Rockets for one year in 1999 and things didn’t exactly go so well.

Pippen had a somewhat quiet demeanor during his playing days. But as he tries to build up his brand and reputation lately, it seems like he feels the best way to do so is to throw a bunch of shade at other guys he used to play with.

Charles Barkley isn’t amused.

“I’m not no fake tough guy, I don’t pretend to be a tough guy,” he said. “but I am tougher than Scottie Pippen.”
