The NFL’s QB carousel is always on the move.

The Panthers are desperate to find a franchise quarterback, and they need to show some progress in 2022 to save the regime of coach Matt Rhule.

Cousins always shows enough to warrant interest from other teams.

The latest is the Panthers who are interested in his services.

According to Judd Zulgad of SKOR North (h/t Yahoo! Sports), the Carolina Panthers recently put in a call to Minnesota’s new brass inquiring about Kirk Cousins’ availability.

“They have gotten a call. Now, from what I’ve heard, it went nowhere so far,” Zulgad said. “But it’s interesting that the phone did ring at TCO [Stadium] in Eagan and on the other end of the line . . . the Carolina Panthers.”

Cousins is set to earn a whopping guarantee of $45 million in 2022 and the Vikings moving into a fresh regime with new head coach Kevin O’Connell may want a change.

They also may want Cousins to take a pay cut.

This is what may keep a potential trade to Carolina alive according to the report.
