Arizona Cardinals star safety Budda Baker was receiving many thoughts and prayers from people in the NFL community following a scary collision with Rams running back Cam Akers during the Wild Card game on Monday.

Akers appeared to lower his head into Baker’s helmet. And it looked like the All-Pro was out cold on the field.

Budda Baker was stretchered off the field as his teammates swarmed to send one of their leaders their best wishes.

As fans were searching for updates on Budda Baker, the team sent out a positive update on their star safety.

“Initial injury update on Budda Baker – concussion and will not return Did have movement & feeling in all extremities as he left field,” a team’s PR rep tweeted out. “Taken to hospital for further evaluation Was alert & communicative Never lost feeling or movement per medical staff.”

Budda Baker was the Cardinals’ lone All-Pro selection from their 2021-22 season. He finished the year with 98 total tackles and three interceptions for the team’s impressive secondary.

Despite the season ending in poor fashion, Baker was a bright spot on the team all year long.

We’ll continue to look for updates as we wish for a speedy recovery for Budda Baker.
