Shams: Every Team But Lakers & Clippers Want To Play in Wake of Jacob Blake Shooting Boycotts; LeBron Pleas for Owners to Step Up

There’s been a ton of conversation around whether the NBA Restart will continue following the NBA boycott that took place due to the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, the Bucks and Raptors have some of the “strongest voices” to shut down the NBA Restart.

However, Shams offers a different sentiment according to his sources which paints the Lakers and Clippers as the only two teams to vote against continuing play.

Shams adds that LeBron James is making a plea to owners to get more involved and take action and it’s hardly surprising that LeBron is leading the charge in this following his point blank tweet on the matter:

Regardless of who has the strongest voice and what is in fact accurate in the strangest, most unpredictable season of NBA basketball that we will ever witness, it’s pretty apparent that for those who think these guys will just “shut up and dribble” are sorely mistaken. Having the teams with the best chance of winning the NBA Finals vote to cancel the season should be all the indication you need that basketball simply doesn’t really matter all that much right now.

It’s looking possible that the NBA Restart may be shut down, not because of the virus that allowed it to happen in the first place, but because the ones who vow to serve and protect just can’t seem to honor the most basic of human rights. And that’s truly a shame for humanity.
