Brooks Koepka Wasn’t Happy With Phil Mickelson Fans Storming The Course During The PGA Championship

At 50 years old, PGA fan-favorite Phil Mickelson became the oldest golfer to ever win a major championship with his triumphant victory at the PGA Championship this past weekend.

While the golf world is still in a celebratory mood over the lovable lefty’s victory, one fellow PGA Tour veteran isn’t as pleased.

Brooks Koepka was playing with Phil Mickelson in the final pairing on Sunday and said fans became unruly and dinged up his (already injured) knee during the end of the event.

“It would have been cool if I didn’t have a knee injury and got dinged a few times in the knee in that crowd because no one really gave a s–t,’’ Koepka said afterward via The New York Post. “Yeah, it’s cool for Phil, but getting dinged a few times isn’t exactly my idea of fun. I was trying to protect my knee.’’

Phil also spoke on the crowd rushing him as he was walking up to the green on 18.

“[The crowd was] slightly unnerving, but exceptionally awesome,” he said.

It was definitely a special day for Phil Mickelson. But for Brooks Koepka, it was one to forget. Hopefully he didn’t re-aggravate that knee injury while fighting through a crowd that just wanted a glimpse of a 50-year-old man doing something that very few people believed he could.
