Earlier this morning, the Broncos were able to pull off a trade for Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in one of the biggest blockbusters the NFL has seen in a long while.

Immediately, social media was buzzing about the future Hall of Famer going to an AFC powerhouse.

To add insult to injury, the Seahawks social media team posted the scene from “Castaway” when the main character lost his volleyball he names “Wilson”.

They would quickly delete the tweet, but I think you all know the GIF:

The Seahawks were immediately ripped for making a joke out of trading their franchise’s best player ever, Russell Wilson.

The Denver Broncos Twitter team also used “Castaway” to share their excitement about the Russell Wilson trade, but this one went over a lot better with their fans.

By joining the Broncos, Russell Wilson will now join QBs Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Derek Carr in a star-studded AFC West. But even so, he’ll likely have a better shot at winning another ring than he would with the suddenly-rebuilding Seahawks.

Of course, Seattle fans will have fond memories of the Wilson tenure, but I’m sure they won’t be feeling anything but sour feelings about how everything went down this offseason.

Either way, it’s going to be a lot of fun seeing Russ slinging it around in Denver.
