LSU Reportedly Going After Brian Kelly To Replace Coach O As Their Head Coach

Legendary Notre Dame head coach Lou Holtz slammed Brian Kelly after the coach left the Fighting Irish prior to the bowl game to join LSU

Would Brian Kelly to LSU really make sense?

The 60-year-old has been at Notre Dame since 2009. And even though he yet to win a National Championship with the program, he just became the all-time winningest coach in the history of the school earlier in the year.

Kelly’s Fighting Irish currently have an outside shot of making the College Football Playoff after finishing at an impressive 11-1 clip despite the notion that this was likely going to be a rebuilding year for the program.

But now, the school has a different problem altogether. According to college football insider Bruce Feldman, Brian Kelly is being heavily targeted by LSU to replace Coach O as their next head coach.

Fans immediately slammed the idea of LSU hiring Brian Kelly at this stage of his life.

Blast it all you want, but LSU could do much worse than Brian Kelly.

All the guy has done has won dating back to his days as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats. And despite the fact that he’s getting up there in age, he proved in 2021 that he still has plenty left in the tank – being on the verge of taking a mediocre roster to a top bowl game.

No, I don’t think LSU and Brian Kelly will end up coming to an agreement. But the possibility is most definitely out there….

The coaching carousel in college football is already wild, might as well keep it going.
