Brett Favre Weighs In On The Derek Chauvin Verdict

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre has a 'gut feeling' about Aaron Rodgers future as a member of the team amid all the speculation

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre has developed quite the reputation as an outspoken conservative in his retirement. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that he has thoughts on Derek Chauvin being found guilty on all three counts for the murder of George Floyd.

Favre spoke of the incident on his “Bolling With Favre” podcast on Wednesday. He didn’t necessarily support Chauvin’s actions, but he also said that he found it “hard to believe” that Chauvin meant to kill George Floyd.

“I find it hard to believe — and I’m not defending Derek Chauvin in any way — I find it hard to believe, first of all, that he intentionally meant to kill George Floyd,” Favre said on Wednesday via TMZ.
“That being said, his actions were uncalled for. I don’t care what color the person is on the street. You do not … I don’t know what led to that video that we saw where his knee is on his neck, but the man had thrown in the towel.”
“It was just uncalled for.”
This is definitely not the most controversial thing Brett Favre has said, but it still comes off as a little ignorant.A common theme in all of Brett Favre’s arguments is him saying things like ‘I don’t know what led to the video’. It’s like, dude…if you’re going to constantly be spewing your opinions, can you please do your homework at least?

Favre would also talk about the backlash he received from comments last week that we should keep politics out of sports, and that kneeling for the anthem is not the answer.

“I just gave my opinion. I’m certainly not a racist, despite what people think. I’m for unity. I just feel like
there’s a better way to unify our country.”
I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from Brett Favre.
