Brett Favre Condemns “Bullies” That Went After Drew Brees For His Stance Against Kneeling For The Anthem

Brett Favre has made a lot of headlines since his playing days have been over. Some thought he might never hang it up. Honestly, the 51-year-old would probably pick up the phone today if an NFL team came calling. Nevertheless, Favre has found a way to keep himself occupied, and has seemingly got a lot more into politics with his free time.

Favre is a big fan of Donald Trump, which means he’s very against players kneeling for the National Anthem to protest systemic racism. Favre did a 1-on-1 interview with Fox Baltimore, and talked about how he was ticked off when he felt Drew Brees got ‘bullied’ for saying players should stand for the flag.

“I think Drew stated clearly what he was standing for,” Favre said. “There’s no question about it and he wasn’t wrong.”

Favre would go on to say he felt Drew Brees was ‘bullied’.

Drew Brees made headlines when he called out athletes who knelt during the National anthem.

“I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart is it shows unity,” Brees said. “It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.”

Brees apologized for his comments prior to this season. If it were up to Brett Favre, that apology never would have happened.
