Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens has a tall task ahead of him. Stevens’ Celtics drew James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

When speaking of the matchup, Stevens admitted that it would be “hard to see” the Nets losing to his Celtics.

Sure, some added context is necessary. Stevens didn’t technically say the he was expecting to lose, he was saying that if he was a fan it would be difficult to see the Nets losing. But still, kind of a weird comment for a guy who should be trying to get his players to believe they can pull off the upset.

As the Celtics have sputtered a bit in recent years, some were indicating that Brad Stevens might be on the hot seat. However, team president and general manager Danny Ainge has held firm that Stevens will be back with the Celtics next season.

The series against the Nets is likely going to be fairly lopsided, and it sounds like Brad Stevens knows he’s hoping for a miracle here.
