Boston Celtics Fans Unveil Billboard To Lobby For Barrier-Breaking Head Coach Hire

Boston Celtics fans set up a billboard close to the team's facility calling for Kara Lawson or Becky Hammon to be the next coach

The Boston Celtics shocked the entire NBA world with their front office shakeup following their first round loss to the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA Playoffs.

Danny Ainge stepped down as president of basketball ops, and coach Brad Stevens is set to take his talents to the front office to take over.

After the move, many fans have been speculating about who the next head coach of the Celtics will be. Some names being thrown out there have included Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, and Bucks assistants Darvin Ham and Charles Lee.

However, some fans want the Celtics to make a move that we haven’t seen in any of the major men’s sports in America. They want the Celtics to hire either Kara Lawson or Becky Hammon.

Fans even put a billboard up near the Celtics’ training facility.

“Hey Brad, It’s time to shake it up,” the billboard reads. “Hire Kara or Becky!”

Becky Hammon has been working with Gregg Popovich in San Antonio for many years, and Kara Lawson recently took over the Duke Blue Devils women’s team after having some experience in the NBA.

Both women appear to be highly intelligent, and primed to break barriers during their respective careers. While the reports coming out of Boston have not directly tied their search to either women, the list of potential candidates is likely to expand.

I think it would be awesome to see either Kara Lawson or Becky Hammon take over as the next Celtics head coach.
