Legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden shared some heartbreaking news on Thursday. The 91-year-old has been diagnosed with a terminal condition.
Bowden said he is “at peace”.
“I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come,” Bowden said in a statement shared with the Democrat. “My wife Ann and our family have been life’s greatest blessing.”

Bobby Bowden’s health allegedly starting to decline after he was hospitalized with COVID-19 in October. Bowden has been struggling to regain his strength ever since.
“I feel fine but I can’t do much,” Bowden said over two weeks ago.

During his 33 seasons at Florida State, Bobby Bowden accumulated 377 wins, two National Championships, and 12 ACC titles.
He built the program into a top college football powerhouse, and will always be remembered as one of the greatest football coaches of all-time.
Bobby Bowden was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
