Big Ben Drops Video to Announce His Official Retirement from the NFL

Big Ben is calling it a career.

Ben Roethlisberger confirmed what others had reported and what we all knew was coming, His NFL playing career is over.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback officially announced his retirement Thursday in a social media post, bringing to an end an 18-year career.

“I’m just so thankful,” Roethlisberger said after Sunday’s game. “I hope that I’ve been able to pass the legacy of what it is to be a Steeler. … We’ve got some guys in there that will continue to do that. Gave Cam (Heyward) a big hug and told him it’s on him now. It’s his job to pass it down and to keep teaching and holding guys to the Pittsburgh standard.”

Big Ben finishes his career ranked fifth in NFL history with 64,088 passing yards and eighth in touchdown passes with 418.

Roethlisbeger won Two Super Bowls, which will easily help get him inducted into the Hall when it’s time.
