Beyonce No Longer Has To Speculate About Being A Boy

It’s been nearly 12 years since Beyonce released hit single “If I Were A Boy”, and the song is all the sudden relevant again thanks to FaceApp. FaceApp is a Russian-based photo editing app that went viral in 2019 for its filter feature that made people look older or younger. The app’s popularity has ebbed and flowed, but it has made a resurgence due to its new sex change filter. The feature was used to make Beyonce look like a boy and it caught the eye of her fellow artist, Todrick Hall.

I personally prefer Beyonce the woman, but Todrick is not necessarily wrong. Beyonce is still very attractive, even in the body of a man. The song “If I Were A Boy” was not actually written by Beyonce and is actually about a breakup, rather than sexual curiosity, but at least Beyonce now has a tangible image of what she would look like were she a boy. I have no doubt that theoretical boy-Bey would enjoy drinking beer with the guys and chasing after girls, as referenced in the song.

I may be alone in this sentiment but to me, boy-Bey looks eerily similar to Grey’s Anatomy’s (how is that show still running) Jesse Williams. Now I am picturing Beyonce as Dr. Jackson Avery and I will never be able to unsee it. To all the Grey’s fans out there, sorry if I have forever ruined the show for you.

The moral of the story here is that Queen Bey is an absolute stunner and is far more attractive than the rest of us, even as a boy. Although, I don’t think FaceApp’s sex change filter would be nearly as kind to Beyonce’s husband, Jay-z. If the image is already out there somewhere in the ether I know one thing for certain, I most definitely do not want to see it.
