The Ben Simmons Sixers era is officially over.

Ben Simmons will reportedly not report to the opening of training camp next week and vows to never play another game for the franchise, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski. Simmons hasn’t spoken to the team since a late August meeting when he communicated this very message to Sixers officials.

Simmons is fully aware of sanctions available to the organization to fine and suspend him, including withholding his salary. But so far, Simmons appears willing to do whatever it takes in order to get traded.

The Sixers have yet to find a trade they’re willing to make for him.

And with Simmons’ stance on playing for the Sixers, it makes a deal even harder to pull off.

The Sixers absolutely have no leverage with any potential trade partner.
