Pro Football Talk – One of the most intriguing aspects of the Twitter experience comes from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, whose account has blocked an incredibly large number of other accounts.

Although Roethlisberger does not personally handle the Twitter account, he realizes that it’s his account — verified with a blue check mark — and thus he’s the one who is blocking people, even if he’s not actually pressing “block” on Twitter. And, per a source with knowledge of the situation, that is changing.

The block party is ending. The plan is to unblock all accounts, and implementation was due to commence on Tuesday.

Ben Roethlisberger, or whomever is behind his @_BigBen7 handle, has apparently been pretty aggressive with the block button over the years. I’m more of a Mute guy myself, but when you’re Ben, with some of his previous transgressions making for some easy layup jokes from Twitter trolls, I get why you’d rather just deny people access to your content.

And what content these people are missing out on! By my count, two of the last 31 tweets on his timeline were ones he tweeted from his handle. The rest are all retweets. If you’ve been, or are still, blocked by Big Ben, here’s what you’ve missed.

Ben shaved his mountain man beard so you can really get a read on the status of his jowels:

Ben has some lukewarm takes on racism in America but he didn’t fully Brees it so he’s got that going for him:

Ben’s son had a birthday! He rocks hard!

In fact, Ben seems to care about holidays at least as much as a person who opens Facebook a few times a week to leave wall posts:

And, of course, Ben (slash the freelancers who run his website and social media team) had some quotes from himself on his NFL Draft experience:

It’s a Twitter feed so banal that it may be worth an Atlanta bathroom joke just to not read it.

But hey, more power to the folks out there who’ve been unblocked. Here’s hoping Steelerzfan42069 can avoid the temptation to return to Ben Twitter Jail when he throws four picks against the Bengals while pointing the blame at James Washington at some point this year.
