Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns were supposed to be contenders this season. But through the first half of the season, things haven’t exactly gone according to plan.

After losing to the rival Steelers on Sunday, Cleveland is now 4-4 on the season – good for last place in the AFC North.

To add insult to injury, Baker Mayfield has still not been able to develop chemistry with Odell Beckham Jr. And OBJ’s father even sent a no-so-subtle video to social media of a bunch of times Mayfield missed his open son.

While Baker Mayfield stayed quiet while his name was being dragged through the mud, his wife, Emily’s Twitter account said it all.

When the Mayfield stans responded by supporting the QB and placing blame on the Browns, she was quick to throw “likes” around.

Baker Mayfield wife clearly has supported the fans who are willing to place the team’s unexpectedly lackluster start to the season away from him. And it isn’t the first time she has spoken out on her husband’s behalf.

When Baker Mayfield was getting blamed for the loss to the Chargers earlier in the year, Emily sent a message to unruly fans.

Baker Mayfield still hasn’t received a contract extension in Cleveland. And if he fails to prove that he’s the answer for the future of the franchise for the remainder of the season, it could be time to look elsewhere.
