Kylian Mbappe’s skills were on full display during PSG’s thrashing of Barcelona on Tuesday. While Antoine Griezmann’s team was on the losing end of the 4-1 final, he couldn’t help but to praise the young Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick in the game.

Griezmann even went as far as saying that he believes Mbappe can reach the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I am happy for him,” Griezmann told RMC Sport of his international team-mate with France. “He has been criticized a lot, but that is what happens when you are someone for a little while.

“As soon as he plays less well, we criticize him. It is quite easy. But I believe that PSG have a future star, one who will be on the level of Leo and Cristiano. He had a truly great match.”

Classy comments here from Antoine Griezmann when he was asked about Mbappe.

With the hat-trick, Mbappe becomes just the third player to ever record three goals against Barcelona in a Champions League game. The other two were Faustino Asprilla for Newcastle and Andriy Shevchenko for Dynamo Kyiv.

Griezmann continued his praise of Mbappe and PSG in further comments.

“We were ready, we wanted to play a big game but they were better than us, there is nothing to say.

“Kylian was having a great night. After this, there is a return match. We’ll have to go there to win and turn the situation around. We’re not going to go there as tourists.”

PSG was certainly the better team today, and Kylian Mbappe was the best player on the field. Griezmann knows his team is going to need a better effort going forward.
