Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball are the future of the NBA, and judging by their first Pro season, these two will be compared to one another for a long time. Despite three straight Rookie of the Month awards to close out the season, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards fell short in Rookie of the Year voting. Instead the honor went to Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball.

Ball earned 84 first-place votes to Edwards’ 15 from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Apparently Edwards felt like he was robbed of the award. Edwards allegedly took to his IG story, which he later deleted.

See below:

On the season, Ball averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals a game. His points average was second only to Edwards’ 19.3

The NBA should have let them split the award. It was too close to call.

This should be a nice little rivalry for years to come. . .
