After coming back from a gruesome leg injury against all odds, and winning the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2020, quarterback Alex Smith had nothing left to prove.

Sure enough, the veteran decided to walk away from the game following the season.

However, it looks like Alex Smith may only be beginning his next chapter with the NFL. Smith has eyes of becoming the latest former NFL player to attempt a career in broadcasting.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Alex Smith and Mark Sanchez both had their sights set on an opening with CBS.

Prior to his retirement decision, Alex Smith was receiving some interest from former college coach Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alex Smith thought better of the decision, and felt it was time to prioritize health and family.

If he does get the TV job, I’m sure he would be phenomenal.
