Adrian Peterson Wants To Play Alongside Tom Brady In Tampa Next Season

After seeing the 43-year-old Tom Brady lead the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl you have to imagine there is a bevy of veterans who would love to join forces with him. Add Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson to that list. Following Brady and the Buccaneers’ win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, Peterson told TMZ Sports about his desire to play with TB12 next season.

The veteran Peterson has few things he can still add to his resume, however, a Lombardi Trophy is one of those things.

“That would definitely be something I’m interested in,” Peterson said. “If they want me to be a part of it, I’ll be a part of it for sure. Because I’m definitely trying to add a trophy to my resume.”

The 35-year-old Adrian Peterson showed flashes of his old self at times for the Detroit Lions last season. Peterson rushed for 604 yards and seven touchdowns and appeared in all 16 games for the Detroit Lions. As far as his desire to join the Bucs, it should be noted that Peterson has some chemistry with Bucs coach Bruce Arians. Peterson played six games with Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 before being traded to the Saints.

Ronald Jones will be back next year and likely be the RB1 in Tampa. It will be interesting to see if the Bucs decided to bring back Leonard Fournette, who scored a touchdown in each of the four playoff games, including the Super Bowl. Tom Brady was definitely an inspiration to the older Adrian Peterson this season. Perhaps if the Bucs need some depth at the running back position they will turn to the veteran AP.
