Adam Schefter Doubles-Down On Tom Brady Retirement Report Amid The Heavy Backlash

During an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up" on Monday, Adam Schefter doubled-down on his report that Tom Brady will retire after the season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter received heavy backlash when he announced along with colleague, Jeff Darlington, that Tom Brady was retiring after 22 seasons in the league.

Shortly after Adam Schefter’s report dropped, it was contradicted by other reporters who claimed Tom Brady called the Buccaneers’ brass to let them know that he ‘wasn’t close’ to making his decision on retirement.

During an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” this morning, Adam Schefter doubled-down on his claim that Tom Brady will anounce his retirement after the dust settles.

“Look, he’s still processing it, still going through his decision. But he’s retiring, that’s the bottom line to the whole thing,” Schefter said. “And he wants to do it when he’s ready and make the announcement on his time schedule, the way that he wants to, which I would imagine would include some sort of tremendous video send-off on his social media accounts. But that’s where this is going now.”

Tom Brady has not yet spoken publicly on Adam Schefter’s report. But it is believed that we’ll hear the decision from the GOAT in the very near future.

I think it was widely believed that Brady would finish out his contract with the Bucs, and play through his age-45 season. But when push came to shove, it looks like there have been too many factors that led Brady to retirement.

Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that Tom Brady’s title as the best to ever do it will not be in jeopardy for a long, long time (if ever).
