LeBron James’ Advisor Adam Mendelsohn Apologizes After Making Comments On Political Activism

LeBron James took to social media to call out Kyle Rittenhouse for fake crying on the stand when recalling the night in question during his murder trial

Celebrities have long played a significant role in social change, from Harry Belafonte marching for civil rights to Muhammad Ali’s anti-war activism. When The New York Times leaked a phone conversation between Rachel Nichols and LeBron James’s PR advisor Adam Mendelsohn, Nichols’ comments have dominated headlines. However, Mendelsohn is catching a lot of flak too after making some revealing comments about LeBron’s activism.

“I’m exhausted. Between Me Too and Black Lives Matter, I got nothing left,” Mendelsohn said in the leaked audio.

Over the weekend, Adam Mendelsohn issued an apology to LeBron James and anyone else who may have been offended by his comments on the call.

“I made a stupid, careless comment rooted in privilege and I am sincerely sorry,” Mendelsohn said to CNBC. “I shouldn’t have said it or even thought it. I work to support these movements and know that the people affected by these issues never get to be exhausted or have nothing left. I have to continue to check my privilege and work to be a better ally.”

LeBron James takes his political work very seriously, and it’ll be interesting to see if he says anything about the comments made by Adam Mendelsohn.

Luckily for the PR advisor, Rachel Nichols’ comments on Maria Taylor were much more publicized than his input in the conversation.
