Aaron Rodgers is headed back to Green Bay.

After an elongated process had a non-committal Rodgers refusing to reveal his future decision, it was reported on Tuesday morning that he had made up his mind — signing a contract extension with the Packers.

But while many NFL insiders reported that Aaron Rodgers’ new deal would make him the highest-paid player in the NFL, Pat McAfee claimed those accounts were false.

Later in the day, Aaron Rodgers chimed in to announce that he had not yet agreed to the contract with Green Bay.

“Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back,” he wrote on Twitter.

Aaron Rodgers was said to have been deciding between the Broncos and Packers. But shortly after the Rodgers news dropped, it was announced that the Broncos were zeroing in on a blockbuster trade to bring in Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Now that the two biggest names are off the market, QB-needy teams will set their sights on the likes of Jimmy Garoppolo, Mitchell Trubisky, Teddy Bridgewater, Carson Wentz, etc. to fill their voids.

Despite all the drama, Packers fans can let out an exhale that their future Hall of Fame quarterback isn’t going anywhere.
